There are some good basics here and the room rate is great value. The location is handy too, about a 25 minute walk into the centre, and the things in the room worked well. But the cleaning needs to improve. I found several hairs that weren't mine, and when I raised it with the manager, he said it wasn't his department and tried to send me to the cleaner. I won't return.

The staff I met were both really friendly, and there was loads of storage in my room. It was a small single, but perfectly fine for two nights. This is a straightforward B&B in a quiet part of Jesmond, just north of Newcastle city centre, with the nearest metro stop about a ten minute walk away. Breakfast cost an extra £7.50, which suited me since I already had other plans.

We were there on a very hot weekend in July, and the rooms got really warm. A fan would have helped. Still, I'd stay again: it's close to the city but far enough from the centre that we had no noise issues at night. For the price, it's a nice little B&B. The proprietor was lovely, friendly and helpful, and breakfast was very good with vegetarian options. We stayed in single ensuite rooms; the bathrooms were small but worked fine. Parking was free, with permits provided by the hotel for the stay.

A little gem in a fabulous spot, and really good value for money. The owner was friendly, the rooms were clean and had everything we needed, and breakfast was lovely.
