The owners are lovely and made us excellent breakfasts. We stayed while visiting the Newmarket races and celebrating our anniversary. The dining room looks out over their fantastic garden, and we had a very pleasant stay.

Gorgeous grounds, decent rooms and a proper full English, plus good coffee. It was such a lovely place that we came back the next week. Debbie & Gordon are excellent hosts, and this is one of the best BnBs I’ve stayed in.

Debbie & Gordon were attentive from the moment we arrived for our two-night stay. The room was warm and cosy, with a lovely comfortable bed, lots of extras and a TV. Breakfast ticked all the boxes, and they were helpful with information about the local area and walks. We’ll be back, and I can’t recommend them enough. Thank you.

I’ve never left a negative Google review before, but I’m disgusted by how we were treated. We’d booked three nights, but my wife tested positive for Covid on our departure day. Since Government advice was still to isolate where possible, we did the responsible thing and told the establishment straight away that we couldn’t make the stay. When I asked for a refund, they said cancellations within 14 days weren’t refundable. That seemed unreasonable given we’re still living with a pandemic. I asked what would happen if the room was booked again and was told we’d get a refund if that happened. I checked online afterwards and saw the hotel listed as fully booked for all three nights, and took screenshots. When I contacted them to request the promised refund, they said there had been no alternative bookings and the website was wrong. They refused any compensation at all. If this shows their attitude during a pandemic, I dread to think what their usual customer service is like. My strong advice is to avoid this establishment like the plague. We feel completely ripped off when we were only trying to do the right thing in circumstances that have been testing for everyone.
