We used it for a stag party and found it adequate for what we needed. It's more like a hostel than a hotel: the bunks and covers are pretty worn, but if you just need somewhere very cheap to crash, it does the job. There are two or three spaces squeezed in at the back when they aren't already full, though it's definitely not a proper car park, so expect to find street parking. I never met the owners, so can't comment on their service.

This was a dreadful stay, with problems from the booking right through to checkout. We booked in January, then got a call two hours before arrival saying the three twin rooms weren't available. The only choice offered was one twin and one quadruple, or we'd be split across different hotels. I had to accept, and was promised a partial refund. A week later, despite chasing several times, I still hadn't received it. When we arrived, a staff member was abusive and told us to f**off out of the car park. I explained we were new guests, but she didn't care and threatened to damage my car if I left it there. I was worried about vandalism, so moved it. We left another car for a day, then moved that too because we were concerned it might be damaged. The rooms were awful. The bunks creaked and felt like they were falling apart, the shower only dribbled, and the TV required coins in a slot. Nobody cleaned the room during our three-day stay. On the final night, my son's room door jammed. After multiple calls over more than an hour, the landlord asked a long-term resident to break in, leaving a mess. My sons had to spend that last night in a room that wouldn't lock. I asked several times, but no management ever came to the property. After I complained, the hotel claimed a cupboard was broken and sent photos asking for damage costs. I had taken a video when we left, showing everything intact. Trying to avoid the partial refund this way felt like a corrupt and upsetting move.

The service was practically nonexistent during our few days there. The only person who dealt with us was the maid, who said she was the landlady and threatened to smash our car. They advertise disabled access and a swimming pool, but neither exists. She wouldn't clean or do her job, and just hurled abuse at us. We were also given one fewer room than expected, without an apology or refund. One of our doors was faulty, so with the landlord's permission a 'resident' with a master key to every room had to boot it in. Even though we recorded the rooms on video, they later tried to charge us for allegedly smashing a set of drawers to pieces, which we didn't do. I'd rather lose my left leg than stay here again. Avoid it.

The landlord was repulsive and irate. One door, not mine, had no lock, and I can only wonder what happened in that room. It was absolutely overpriced, and after I left they tried to bill me for a broken shower. I took pictures of everything as I left, so I know I didn't cause any damage. I should be suing them for ruining my enjoyment of Newquay.

The security was awful: people wandered around, and the side door was constantly left open. There was mould on the ceiling, bunk beds blocked the curtains so they couldn't be opened, and the beds were poor quality. People also seemed to use the place as a doss house, hanging around and bringing their mates over. The coin-operated TV was another bizarre feature that we couldn't make sense of. By far the worst place I've ever stayed. If you want your holiday ruined by where you're staying, this is the place. Spacepods? It felt like a nightmare dimension. Avoid like the plague.
