Canal Court Hotel

We love the ambience at the Canal court Hotel, but the service has let us down before, and this was another disappointment. It was a packed Saturday afternoon during the Christmas holiday season, with a wedding taking place and shoppers ordering food. One waitress, Ciara, was left to serve the whole reception area by herself. She worked incredibly hard, but the stress was clear. I hope they appreciate and look after the Ciaras of the service industry.

The lobby, restaurant and bar were spotless and well staffed, and everyone we dealt with was professional, courteous and lovely. They couldn't do enough for us. Dinner was delicious: I had the roast beef dinner and my husband had the steak baguette. Both were amazing. Highly recommend for food. It's centrally located, with shops and bars all around and the bus garage just a stone's throw away.

We had a wonderful Saturday night at the Canal Court Hotel. The Christmas decorations created a fantastic atmosphere, the beds were so comfortable, and the bathrooms were new with great showers. We had a gorgeous meal in the bar, and Gerard and his team gave great service. Such friendly, hardworking staff. We'll definitely go back.

We stayed for two nights and absolutely loved it. Our upgraded top floor room was spacious and had wonderful views over the canal. We called ahead to ask if there was somewhere safe to leave our luggage since we'd be getting an early lift down. When we arrived, our room was ready almost two hours early, which was amazing. The breakfast was lovely, and they do a carvery every day if that's your thing. Staff were very helpful. You can get bar food at the granary bar, or have a fancy night out in the lovely first floor restaurant. There are lots of quiet spots throughout the hotel to sit and chill. I think it's my new favourite place, a little piece of heaven for a getaway!
