We slept really well here, with peaceful, quiet nights and plenty of parking in the car park. The spacious accommodation and shared areas were lovely, and there’s a restaurant that seats 40 people. It’s a handy base for walks in the Mournes. Mairead made us feel very welcome, and she’s a great cook too. Highly recommended.

It’s a lovely spot in a small, remote village, and a good base for hiking. There’s a little shop in the village with most essentials, and the next town is a 10-minute drive away. The owner was super friendly and helpful. You collect a key that’s left ready for you, so you can arrive any time after check-in. Just remember to leave cash for the room before you go, as I forgot!

This community-run hostel is in beautiful surroundings and suits anyone keen on hill walking or touring Northern Ireland. It was clean, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was very reasonably priced, and the hostess was a gem. She chatted with us over breakfast about the community and the lovely countryside around it.

Just below the Mourne mountains, the Mourne lodge makes a cosy base for exploring the area. Kilkeel is only a short drive away, and the surrounding scenery is beautiful. The friendly, accommodating staff made us feel at home. The accommodation seems well suited to families, hikers and couples.

I stayed here with a few friends in August, and I still think about how much I enjoyed it. The town is quiet, with beautiful mountains around it. We had comfortable beds, hot showers and a full kitchen, plus a full breakfast in the morning. It was my first time trying porridge and stewed vegetables, and they were delicious. Mairead was such a thoughtful host that she’d go to great lengths to find something if it wasn’t already there. She also suggested nearby hikes. I’d definitely return if I get the chance.
