A big thank you to the whole team for a wonderful stay. The staff were slick, friendly and efficient, and clearly worked well together. Every single person was excellent. The pub itself is a gem, with cosy, relaxing interiors, and the food and drinks were great and reliably served. Highly recommend.

The location and room were good, and the staff were friendly. The place had a bit of a corporate feel, though, and the food didn't feel like bistro food to me. It was more like standard chain fare, but at a higher price. I'd stay for the room and location, not for the food.

We didn't stay in the rooms, but came for a meal and breakfast the next day. The food was beautiful, the atmosphere was great, and the team were friendly and attentive. Breakfast had lots to choose from, including fruit, cereal and yoghurt, followed by a cooked breakfast that was spot on for taste and presentation. Definitely worth a visit.

The area around Newton by the sea is amazing, the mattress was comfortable, and the chocolate in the room was a nice touch. But don't mistake a five-star inn for a five-star hotel: this isn't a hotel, and there was no spa or 24-hour reception. There was no toilet brush or tissues in the room, the outdoor seating area wasn't available after 6pm, and parking was limited. The Sebastian room was very noisy. I could hear restaurant music, the kitchen extraction starting at 6:30am, and a door banging at the hut where the fridges are kept. The Ship down at the beach does toasties until 3pm. A service charge was added to our restaurant bill. It was overpriced, and I wouldn't visit again.
