I stayed solo on a Saturday night in November 2009, and I’ll stay again. The room was spacious, attractive, spotless and well equipped, with every amenity I could want, including a Humax freeview television. I’ve had smaller, less pleasant bedrooms in large hotels. The bathroom was roomy and very beautiful. Breakfast in the lovely dining room was tasty, and the service was very good. The welcome information in the room was top drawer, with places to eat and even menus from some of them. That attention to detail is typical of the owners. From the clear website layout and pricing, and its availability checker, to every part of the stay, everything was spot on. This business deserves to do very well, as the owners put so much in and get things right, which is rare these days.

The breakfast service was friendly and efficient, and a great start to the day: fresh fruit, cereals and a full range of hot food, including Eggs Benedict. Parking was very adequate, and getting in and out was reasonable even at peak times. Gables is a friendly, clean, well decked guest house that I’d use again any time. The room was warm, the bed comfortable and everything fully fit for purpose. There were useful little touches around, like an alarm clock, earplugs and a rolled napkin, that made a difference.

I picked the single en-suite after an old college friend recommended The Gables Guest House in Lincoln. I was meeting her in the city, and she’d stayed there before. David and Hilary were very welcoming and helped me find my way into the city centre. My clean, spacious room was nicely decorated, and the comfy bed gave me a great night's sleep. Breakfast was delicious and set me up for a long day browsing the nice boutiques. I found this B&B friendlier and much nicer than places I’ve stayed around London. Had a lovely time this weekend. We’ve been four times now, and every stay has had the same very high standards. The comfort, care with the details and fantastically well-cooked breakfasts make for such a relaxing stay. Gables Guest House is the best place we’ve stayed, bar none. The trouble is, other places always disappoint us afterwards.

Our room at the Gables was spotless and well furnished, and we both had a very pleasant stay. The breakfasts were excellent and the hosts very hospitable. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Gables to anyone visiting the Lincoln area.
