Allerton Court Hotel

The room looked well presented and was very clean when we arrived, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast tasted good, though it seemed one staff member was handling it alone and looked stressed. She was doing her best, but I think she could have used some help. The rooms look nice, but they don’t seem to get cleaned or attended to every day.

We really enjoyed our bank holiday weekend in Northallerton, and I’ve already booked to come back in August. The location is handy for shops and bars, and waking up to rabbits and other wildlife outside the window was lovely. The room had crisp white bedding and towels, though it was dusty and the windows and sills were filthy. Dinner on Saturday was lovely. Breakfast service was a bit of a shambles, but once it arrived, we enjoyed both mornings.

The staff in every department were brilliant and tried to accommodate anything we asked for. The atmosphere was lovely, and I was very happy with the price. Our spacious room was spotlessly clean, with lovely towels. Dinner options were limited, but my meal was outstanding; if it’s not too busy, the chef will adjust things if you ask. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful too. I’d definitely stay again.

The food was great, and I’m looking forward to coming back. Everyone was polite and friendly. I was on crutches, and a woman working in the carvery was especially helpful: she carried my plate, asked what food and portion size I wanted, then brought the plate back to my table. She’s a real asset to the hotel.
