The breakfasts were generous and tasty. Evening meals were fine overall, though the menu could use a bit of a revamp. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Helen and Chris, and especially Leanne, who went above and beyond to sort out a problem in our room. Six stars for her.

My daughter and husband had lunch downstairs and spoke very highly of both the food and the staff. I was upstairs in a meeting, and the room we used was clean and tidy.

They’re happy to go out of their way to make you more comfortable, which is what you want. The rooms are cozy, and the service was amazing. There’s also a lovely view from the front. It’s not the highest society spot, but it feels cozy. Breakfast was alright with a good few options, though the menu seems more like guidance than something specific.

The food was fantastic and well priced when we stopped in for tea with the family on Monday night. Staff were friendly and attentive. We’d definitely recommend it!

The service was friendly and efficient, and the background music was pleasant without being too loud. We ate at the Village Inn twice while staying just down the road, and were delighted to find a vegan menu. The meals were £10 from Monday to Wednesday, which we appreciated. Everything was delicious, especially the spinach and mushroom Wellington, and the sticky toffee pud was amazing.
