Ecton House

Ecton House is much bigger than it appears in the photos. We kept losing each other inside! The house was warm throughout, despite our worry that a large manor might feel chilly, and our beds were incredibly comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed, the hot tub was perfect for catching up and unwinding, and the decor was spotless and clearly cared for. It felt relaxed but still classy. We had a girls' weekend and would absolutely recommend it for a fun, chilled group stay. The setting is lovely too: a former rectory dating to 1640, in the historic village of Ecton, with two acres of grounds and the gorgeous church right opposite. It's a picturesque backdrop, especially for a wedding. There are walks nearby, from gentle village strolls to longer circular routes over fields and tracks. After the hot tub, we took a crisp morning walk through the village and countryside and felt we'd escaped the city. It's a great wedding venue and house for exclusive hire. Ash and Harvi were great hosts, and we'd happily recommend Ecton House.

Ash and Harvi made us feel so welcome and took care of everything we needed during our stay. The cottage was lovely, comfortable, and well maintained, a wonderful place to start celebrating my mum's birthday with family. Mum loved the Hot Tub, and the children had a great time with the games. All those thoughtful details made the weekend feel special and memorable. Thanks to Ash and Harvi for their kindness and for making it feel like a home away from home. We'd highly recommend Ecton Cottage and will definitely visit again.

The house is even lovelier than the photos suggest, and the grounds and garden made it a brilliant place for a birthday weekend. Harvi and Ash went out of their way to make my birthday special, and they'd thought of everything. We can't wait to return, perhaps to hire the house again for another big birthday or Christmas one year. Wonderful hosts and a beautiful house. Thank you so much.

I was really impressed after touring Ecton House and staying there to see what it offers for small weddings and retreats. It has a warm, cosy feel, more like a home than an event venue, and would suit an intimate, peaceful occasion or a focused getaway. Highly recommended if you're after somewhere charming and welcoming.
