Bestwood Lodge

I held my 40th birthday party at the lodge. The venue was beautiful and very clean and tidy. Brenton and Declan gave outstanding service, and the whole team worked so hard. I can't thank them enough. I'd definitely book again and highly recommend it.

I was impressed by how clean and welcoming the venue was, and the tables were set beautifully. The staff handled the service professionally, and the manager was polite, professional and easy to reach. The room was tidy and had everything, including coffee, tea and biscuits. The bathroom was spotless too, with fresh towels, shampoo and shower gel. The three-course meal was delicious and nicely presented. I was there for a birthday and retirement party, and liked the venue, the staff, the manager, the room and the food.

The dining room was a little bare, but our set dinner menu was very good quality. We appreciated the genuine effort to serve a good meal and welcome guests in an older building. The hotel has enormous character, and we like places where the architecture makes a statement. The rooms were quite large and well equipped, and the staff were very friendly. Coming by car was handy, with free parking and easy access for business. Excellent!

We loved our room and the beautiful setting of the old period building, and would like to return to the same one, The King Charles Room. We were there overnight for a family function, with plenty of spots to sit and relax. The big, comfortable chairs by the log fire were especially inviting. The bar and breakfast staff were attentive, pleasant and approachable. Brenton, the manager, made us feel very welcome and was accommodating. Our stay wouldn't have been the same without him. Thank you for such a lovely visit.
