We had a room facing the main road, and it was noisy all night. The place was clean and tidy, though the decor is very dated. It didn't bother us. There was tea and coffee making equipment, a small TV and a sink in the room. The full English breakfast was excellent and good value. I'd stay again, but ask for a room at the back.

The family run hotel has a nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Rooms are reasonably priced, and it's a good choice for families or solo guests. Breakfasts are great and competitively priced, cheap for a hotel. You don't have to be staying there to use the breakfast facilities, and the chefs are happy to accommodate that when they can.

We enjoyed the bar in the evening, listening to the juke box, and had freshly cooked breakfast the next morning. It was good value. The triple room had comfy beds, was very clean and had plenty of cupboard and drawer space. It was spacious too. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. It was perhaps a little too hot overnight, but that's my fault for not turning down the radiator. Great location, with buses to both the city centre and University of Nottingham. We'll definitely be back. Thank you.

The staff were nice, but that didn't make up for a disappointing two-night stay. The room smelled bad and felt damp. Cracks everywhere, peeling wallpaper and flaking woodwork left it in a poor state, and it could have done with a good clean. At £50 a night without breakfast, it wasn't worth it. I wouldn't stay again or recommend it.

The room had a nice feel to it, and the staff were pleasant. The coffee was fine. Two lattes and scones cost £9.20, which isn't cheap. The scones tasted good, but were so tiny they seemed homemade, smaller even than packet ones.
