Fox and Hounds

The room was very spacious and clean, with an interesting collection of decor pieces. We had a weekend break here and enjoyed the freshly cooked food, which was beautiful. The pub has a quirky style, a good range of beers and comfortable seating. The owners were friendly and very accommodating. It’s close to my parents, so I’m looking forward to visiting again and again. Many thanks for a lovely stay.

We found this lovely place after a damp walk with the dog, who was welcome too. He thoroughly enjoyed getting treats from the staff, while letting the others think he hadn’t had any 🙈😹. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was inviting. We didn’t try the food this time, but we’ll be back to do that. Highly recommended.

A pleasant garden gets the afternoon sun, and the area is great for walking and cycling. The village pub and hotel has a rustic feel, with a courtyard car park and a large room with a bath, shower, comfortable decor and tea and coffee. Breakfast was freshly cooked and tasty, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The evening meals were very good too. No complaints.

We stopped for lunch after an event at Rutland Water. The menu was small but had some interesting options. The food fell short of what we expected, and the portions were small enough that my partner and son were still hungry. That made the meal expensive. Service was adequate, though not especially friendly. It’s a great location, but sadly we won’t return.
