We stopped in with my wife and kids after a visit to Meldon Reservoir. It’s in a beautiful spot, just two minutes up the road, with plenty of parking. The food was surprisingly good, tasted fantastic and came in large portions for a very reasonable price. A great place to call in if you’re passing.

Beautiful setting, a generously sized room with everything we needed, and lovely staff. I highly recommend staying here.

I stayed here a while ago. It’s well placed for walkers and travellers, and there’s plenty of parking. The manager was excellent. The restaurant and bars were very good, and breakfast was available. I stayed in the very basic accommodation outside, where the toilet and shower were shared. I can’t say what the main building is like.

We came for Saturday lunch and were pleasantly surprised. We’d tried the food a few years back and weren’t happy with the quality, but it has changed hands since then. This time the food was delicious, tasty and high quality, with generous portions. The pizzas and loaded fries were packed with lovely toppings. We’d highly recommend it and will come again next time we’re nearby. We didn’t stay, so I can’t comment on the rooms.
