Jessica at the front desk was a great help arranging a surprise for my husband, and the rest of the staff were just as attentive and lovely. We enjoyed breakfast, afternoon tea, and Sunday roast, all delightful. Our four-poster room was incredible, with its original ceiling details and wooden walls beautifully preserved, plus a lovely deep copper tub. We walked through the woodland and estate and visited the church. Back at the hotel, we spent ages playing snooker and chess in the cosy, tastefully decorated lounge. We'll definitely be back.

We stayed in late November 2025 and have already booked another visit with friends. The hotel is stunning, full of history and quirky character, with lovely gardens and a walk around the old quarry lake. Our large upstairs room had terrace access, and the spacious bathroom came with a rolltop bath, a separate shower, and separate basins. Dinner was excellent, starting with canapés in the lounge beside the open log fire, on leather sofas. Breakfast in the library felt classy and was delicious, with plenty of choice. The staff were attentive and friendly.

This historic manor house has been beautifully maintained and freshly renovated, in a peaceful, fantastic location. The atmosphere feels warm and authentic. It has the elegance, comfort, character, and tranquility you'd hope for from a charming English-style stay, and made for a truly memorable visit. Absolutely recommendable.

We only had a couple of days away, but it was a lovely and unforgettable break, even with the rain. The rooms were excellent and extremely comfortable, and the staff went above and beyond to help. A truly wonderful place, with an excellent dining experience.

That tasting menu was one of the reasons we chose a couple of nights near Dartmoor National Park, and we found Lewtrenchard Manor online. The food was beautifully balanced, and the classic wine pairing suited each course. Breakfast had a good range of hot and cold choices too. The manor itself still has so many original details, from the wood paneling and ornate ceilings to the big fireplaces. Photos hadn't prepared us for the impact of walking in. Our spacious, comfortable room had both a modern drench shower and a luxurious copper bath, plus a quirky horse in boots for the “do not disturb” sign. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely return.
