The landlady put a lot of effort into making our Valentine’s Day dinner special. All the meals were fabulous, and our room was warm and comfortable. My partner and I had a wonderful two-night stay. There’s a small, cosy bar, and the locals made us feel very welcome. If you like a classic country pub, this is the place. It’s also an ideal stop if you’re cycling the Tarka Trail, just ten minutes away.

For just £40 for both of us, my husband and I had a wonderful Valentine’s dinner here. We had delicious burgers with chips and salad, then chocolate fondue with marshmallows, fruit and other treats. They even brought us each a glass of Prosecco and surprised me with a rose. The atmosphere was lovely, and the service was incredibly sweet. Amazing food and prices, such a hidden gem. Highly recommended!

The landlady was incredibly welcoming and helpful, even cooking us a late meal and an early breakfast outside the usual hours. Our room was spacious and the food lovely. The only reason this place gets five stars is that I can’t give it seven. The pub dog, Devon, is a cutie.

Pork or lamb were the only roast choices, but both the cooking and presentation were lovely. It was one of the best Sunday lunches we’ve had in a while. The pub has a lovely atmosphere and good beer, and the hostess was lovely to chat with. This will be our local pub, so we’ll definitely be back fairly often.
