The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and we had a lovely time sharing a freshly prepared English breakfast with the family. The food was delicious, full of flavor, and made with high-quality ingredients. A really relaxing meal, and we'd definitely come back.

Dale looked after us so well at our book club's 70th birthday lunch at the Carnarvon Arms. The beautiful room and delicious food made it a really great occasion. Nothing was too much trouble, thank you!

The vegetables were tasty, and the atmosphere had that family Sunday feel, but we left almost as hungry as when we arrived. We ordered the Carnarvon Arms Ultimate Roast, with beef rump, pork and chicken, after skipping breakfast because we were hungry. It came with the Yorkshire pudding on top, but underneath there was mostly cabbage, a few other vegetables, and very little meat despite searching for it. At £29 each, we found it disappointing and poor value. Sunday lunch is still roast season, after all. Will we return? Hard to say.

For Sunday lunch, it was a good experience and I'd definitely go back. I just wish the vegetables came separately instead of everything being piled onto one plate with a Yorkshire pudding on top. I also have mixed feelings about dogs in restaurants, though I'm fine with them in bars. Three dogs were sitting at the table next to us without leads. That's just my own opinion.

We popped in for coffee before our Highclere castle tour and had a really friendly chat. It's such a warm, lovely place for a meal or a stay. We'll be back!
