The service really made our visit, and everything we ate was delicious, served hot and presented beautifully. The wine was excellent too. It had been over 20 years since our last visit, so we're very happy to say this one was wonderful. We can be pretty particular, so that's high praise. We'll definitely recommend it. Thank you.

The birthday touches for my husband's big birthday were so thoughtful, and the staff made the whole night feel special. We found the prices reasonable for the food and service, and the ambience was lovely. After a friend's recommendation, we went last night and were greeted warmly, shown to a nice table by the fire, and looked after impeccably. The food was delicious from start to finish. We weren't disappointed, and we'll be back.

The food was very nice once everything was sorted, and the staff were friendly and professional enough. The atmosphere was nice too. But one steak wasn't cooked properly and had to be sent back, which delayed the meal so we could all eat together. Also, having a mandatory 10% service charge added with no choice was disappointing.

The burgers were amazing. I could pick out each flavour, and every bite seemed to bring out something else. The fries were crisp, golden and crunchy, and the coleslaw went perfectly with the plate. My partner brought me here for my birthday, and the pub felt warm and welcoming. Everyone was helpful and knew the menu and wines well. They even had a birthday card ready for me. The attention to detail was incredible. My family have been visiting the black for years and years. Highly, highly recommend. It was a perfect way to spend a birthday evening.

The roast was excellent, and the feta and fig bruschetta starter was delicious. The staff were friendly, and the food was wonderful. Thanks especially to Sarah for fitting me in as a walk-in on a very busy Sunday!
