We stopped for a meal on Whit Friday, probably one of their busiest days of the year, and were really glad we did. The food was delicious, the beer was good and the prices were reasonable. Staff were friendly and very helpful, and there's a nice beer garden as well. We didn't know what to expect, but this place was a real gem. We'll definitely come back, hopefully for a longer stay.

At the Bellfest music charity festival, the billboard said happy hour ran from 4pm to 6pm. When I asked the barmaid about the price of our drinks, she told me it was only for regulars. I've never experienced that kind of discrimination. Is that allowed in 2026? We'd planned to visit the restaurant another time, but this has put us off going back.

The staff were absolutely brilliant, and the pork roast was amazing. We came for my MIL's birthday and Easter lunch, and I'd definitely go back to try some of the other menu options.

We had a lovely, relaxed family meal on Boxing Day, with tasty, good quality food. My wife is Celiac, and she was able to enjoy delicious food throughout. The staff were exceptionally helpful and attentive, understood her dietary needs without making her feel like a burden, and knew what they were talking about instead of guessing. That was very different from our Christmas Day meal elsewhere. We'll certainly visit again.

Apparently the old pub has 1000 different gins. The place itself is nice, but the staff need serious social skills training. At 5.25pm, when it was quiet, we were told they needed our table for 6pm. Fine, but less than five minutes later we were told to move to another table. After that, we're unlikely to come back.
