Barn Owl Cottage At Crook Hall Farm

Maggie's pond is my favourite, and it's hard to go wrong there. For a small fishery it holds some real whoppers. The track averages 5' deep and the margins 3', with a shallow shelf by the island. So far, the biggest I've had is a 15lb 5oz common carp. There are plenty of mirrors, f1s, ide, roach, rudd, tench and bream too, plus some lovely chub to catch up in the water. During the day, I'd fish as close to the island as you can, then try the margins from 3pm. Fabulous fishery.

The horses on site were a lovely extra, and the accommodation was clean to an exceptional standard with everything we needed. The owners were so helpful when we asked where to visit, and made us feel welcome when we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble. The area is stunning, and the cottages are perfect for a Lancashire holiday. We'd definitely recommend them and plan to return. Claire and Cliff, thank you so much!

Malkin Cottage is lovely and cozy, and we've stayed here several times. It's a great spot to get away from everything and relax. Cliff and Claire are helpful if any problems come up. The fishing ponds are full of fish, so if you don't catch anything, you probably haven't put bait on your hook. We'd recommend it to anyone wanting to switch off.

We loved the spot, where you can watch the chickens wander by the patio doors and see horses in the paddock. Claire and Cliff were kind and welcoming, and there's plenty to see locally, along with some lovely places to eat. Maltkiln Cottage was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, warm and cozy, with everything we needed to relax and enjoy our stay. We'd highly recommend a holiday here.
