There’s a Beefeater right next door for food, and reception can arrange a booking easily. Shops are about a five-minute drive in either direction. The hotel is in a nice location, with plenty of parking, and the lady on reception was so helpful, a lovely way to start a stay. Reception is staffed around the clock, and there’s a vending machine for drinks and snacks.

After seeing Premier Inn improve its game with the New Evolution design and Premium Plus rooms, I was shocked by Southport Ormskirk Premier Inn. The room was extremely basic and dated, badly in need of refurbishment, and right beside what sounded like a loud generator. Someone in the room above seemed to bang and tap all night, but that’s another story. Getting to the site was awkward too, with only A roads for about 25 minutes. The older woman at reception seemed uninterested. I was uncomfortable throughout and wouldn’t recommend this hotel at all. It’s a real stain on the Premier Inn brand.

I’ve been staying here for years, and the staff deserve full credit. They’re always friendly and helpful, and the food is fantastic. I’ve never had a complaint.

A good hotel for a short stay, close to Southport and Ormskirk. Southport town centre is only 20mins away, and Formby red squirrels are 25mins away. Everything at the hotel was good, and I’d recommend it to all.
