The staff were very good, and the room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Dinner was average: we had brie wedges and pâté, steak and ale pie, then chocolate brownie. Breakfast was nice, with scrambled egg and salmon. I booked through Country Hotek Breaks and paid for a suite with a separate bedroom and lounge, but Room 2 was a large room with a sofa and no separate lounge. I mentioned on arrival that I'd paid for a suite, and told the staff I would raise my concern that I hadn't been given what I paid for.

The dog was made very welcome, with a water bowl, toy and treats waiting when we arrived. Our spacious bedroom had plenty of room for a dog cage. We came for Peppa Pig World, and the location is so close that you could walk there. Breakfast was included and lovely, with unlimited hot drinks and water available too. A real gem of a stay. We'd happily recommend Mortimer's Arms and stay again.

We loved our wedding reception at Mortimer. The food was incredible and the staff were dedicated, which made the day memorable. We've come back as often as we can since, and the Sunday roast is the best we've ever had.

We only came for Sunday roast, not an overnight stay. The pub has a lovely atmosphere in a beautiful setting, and the roast and other food were tasty and high quality. Everyone on staff was attentive and friendly. Well done to them for making us feel so welcome.

We had a lovely private function room for my mum's wake, which gave us space to celebrate away from the main pub. The food was great, and the staff were professional and friendly, from the phone booking to the bar team on the day. I'd definitely recommend the venue and keep it in mind for future celebrations.
