The Thai dinner was one of the best meals we've ever had, and the restaurant service was impeccable from start to finish. Before that, Joal asked what we liked and made us a delicious Espresso Baileys martini and a couple of lovely spicy Margaritas. Check-in was friendly and efficient, and we were shown to a beautiful room with a dreamy soft bed, fluffy pillows and a stunning copper bath that I filled with bubbles. It felt so relaxing and indulgent. A truly memorable stay at the Crazy Bear, Stadhampton. We'd love to come back for another treat. Thank you, Crazy bear Stadhampton!

We had a very enjoyable two-night anniversary stay and plan to come back to try the different rooms. The Oak restaurant served excellent food with good service and no long waits. The bed was comfortable, and our large copper roll-top bath sat at the end of the spacious room, alongside large seats and a separate toilet and shower room. The decor worked well, and there was plenty to explore around the grounds, with paths leading to cosy places to sit, some covered and some outdoors. From the small-looking pub entrance, you go around the corner to reach the main entrance. There's a large car park, and reception is in a Route Master bus. Once we'd done the formalities, someone took us to our room and pointed out the many things along the way. The pub itself is small and cosy, with outdoor seating and heaters if needed. Thanks for everything.

Dinner was the standout for me: the 12-course Thai meal was amazing, easily five stars. Breakfast was only okay, and service was a little slow with one staff member on duty, though she stayed cheerful and was clearly doing her best. The Cosy Room lived up to its name, with lovely decor, a comfortable bed, good temperature and a layout that worked. It was clean, and the small bathroom looked stylish, but take care getting out of the shower as there was no warning sign or tape. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout. The reception in the red bus gives the place a fun, quirky feel. It was easy to find, though the rear parking took a moment to figure out, and we managed after a quick U-turn. I knew about the £150 deposit in advance. A fun, unusual stay, 7.5/10, and I'd recommend it for a memorable experience.

The staff really stood out. When a couple nearby had a 'drama' and an ambulance was called, the team stayed calm, attentive and compassionate. That said a lot about how they handle an unexpected situation. Breakfast tends to move at a slower pace than the pub does in the evening, so it could be an issue if you're in a rush. The 12-course Thai dinner was a revelation, full of flavour, beautifully presented and prompt. I can see why it won awards compared with the earlier English menu. We've stayed at Beaconsfield several times, and finally got to try Stadhampton. It's much older, with a quirky, aged feel that's upbeat and well cared for. The grounds are gorgeous, and I'd love to return in summer for a cocktail by the fire. The reception bus is welcoming and fun. We stayed in room 12, which was stunning, with atmospheric lighting that still worked for makeup and photos. The copper bath in the middle got hot and was wonderfully relaxing. The velvet decor is well kept despite the footfall, though the windows are showing their age and need a gentle hand. I can't wait to come back to Crazy Bear!

The room and food were both really good, and the whole venue was beautifully looked after. We loved the atmosphere, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Five stars from us, and we'll definitely be back.
