The Netty is brilliantly placed, and I liked the contrast of coming up from a quiet, private room below ground into the busy street. It stayed peaceful inside apart from one emergency vehicle passing with its siren on. The bed was comfortable, the pillows very soft, and the temperature suited our early spring visit. The room also had plenty to use, including a mini fridge, iron, steamer, kettle, tea and coffee, TV, fan, dehumidifier and hairdryer. The towels were fluffy and the toiletries smelled nice. At nearly £150 a night, though, I expected more care with the details. Water from the shower gets past the curtain and tray and onto the rug. It was damp when we arrived, perhaps left that way by the previous guest. The WiFi kept dropping and was painfully slow. The router was left hanging over a light fitting by the bed, and its blue flashes disturbed our sleep. We unplugged it to get some rest, since it wasn't working anyway. I also couldn't see a smoke detector in the room. That left me concerned about basic fire safety at this price, especially when a five star hotel next door was only £40 more per night. I'd consider coming back if the rate were special or these problems were properly fixed. As it stands, the room doesn't justify the price.
Ana was incredibly helpful when we booked, and the location was brilliant. The interiors are original and incredible. Such an amazing place to stay. I'd recommend The Netty without hesitation. Thanks for having us.
A great two-day stop in the city centre. The room had loads of character and lovely decor, and it felt cosy. I came across it on social media through the BBC story about Anna, who runs it, and it was well worth the visit. Would happily stay again and recommend it.
We booked through Booking.com weeks ahead, then got a cancellation the night before, when the other decent options had already sold out. The phone number on the website wouldn't take calls either. It was really stressful, and I wouldn't recommend booking with them.
Really cosy hotel, love it 😍
