Bay Retreat Villas

Padstow harbour is well worth a visit, and this place isn’t far away. Bay Retreat is a little weathered but neat, and it sits within a holiday park. The villas are fairly spacious and feel private from the rest of the park, with their own enclosed gardens, parking bays, and plenty of bins. There’s also a small enclosed dog area. You can’t walk to any shops, so expect to drive along some narrow country lanes to reach one.

It felt like a home away from home, and we’d happily stay again on another trip to Cornwall. The villa was ideal for our family of six: spacious, spotless, modern, and very comfortable, with a fully stocked kitchen, cosy bedrooms, and a nice outdoor space to relax. Parking was easy, and shops and restaurants were convenient to get to. The setting was peaceful, while Padstow and some of Cornwall’s best beaches were just a short drive away. Highly recommended as a relaxing base for families or anyone exploring the area.

The owners agreed to have the property cleaned again, but they haven’t done it. It was dirty, with wrappers and dust on the floors, and poorly maintained. The outside bench was rotten, the TV remote was missing, shower buttons were falling off, the blinds were broken, and some ceiling lights didn’t work. The list goes on.

A great base for the coast and local attractions, but the villa is looking tired and has lots of little problems. Some cooker settings didn’t work, the shower head wouldn’t stay on its bracket, the bedroom TV remote had no batteries, and the electric shaver socket was out of order. There isn’t much on the park, and the shop was closed.
