The food truck style diner served great food at good prices for the area, and the little shop on site had all the essentials. The place was very clean, with amazing facilities, a great location, and friendly staff. There’s a pub too. One issue was that the tables around the food area were reserved every evening we went, so there was nowhere for us to sit and eat. That put us off eating there a few times. Also, the shower water can get really hot, which I don’t mind, but it could be too hot for some children. The shower heads are fixed to the wall, which made it harder for my son to wash himself.

The staff are amazing, and it’s a lovely little holiday spot in a beautiful part of the country. It’s dog friendly and kid friendly, with most amenities within reach. The beaches are less than a 10-minute walk away, and the coastal walks are out of this world.

We had a fantastic week camping at Carnevas. The site is well looked after, from the grass to the toilets and showers. The local beach is a short walk, and places like padstow are a short drive away. Lots of people return year after year, and I can see why.

Such a friendly welcome, and everyone was helpful. The pitches are a great size and well maintained. The toilets and showers were scrupulously clean, as were the indoor dishwashing and hair drying room. They provide a hairdryer and straighteners too. Portcothan Beach is walkable, though be ready for a steep hill. There are also plenty of other beaches and local attractions a short distance away.

We’ve been coming here for over 40 years, and it feels like coming home every holiday. Caroline, Mark, and the rest of the team who run the site, bar, and Joey's are all lovely, friendly people.
