Strand House

We had a really enjoyable stay and will be back. The balcony is the best spot to sit in Padstow, with lovely views across the harbour. Sarah, the owner, was helpful and has a great character. The apartment itself was super.

The flat had everything we needed and was very comfortable. We were made to feel at home, and nothing seemed too much trouble. Milk, bread, tea, coffee and flowers were waiting for us, and the free parking permit for the week was a real help. The Friday changeover suited us well too. This was our second stay at No 1 and we’ll be back. There are plenty of good places to eat nearby.

The Bolithio is a bright, roomy apartment with a small balcony overlooking the harbour and a couple of bars. It’s in a perfect spot in Padstow and comes with permanent parking. Sarah, the host, is a great character. I’d definitely return.

The room we had, Trelawney, was the smallest, but sunlight came in from every angle. From the bed there was a lovely view of The Basement below and the harbour beyond. Sarah, the owner, told us breakfast was included from there, though coffee wasn’t, which knocked another £16 off the bill. We hadn’t counted on that when booking, so the price already felt good. We’d spent four nights elsewhere after that place messed up our booking for a fifth, and were glad we found this room. It was such a contrast to the dark furniture and lack of light at the other place, especially after such sunny weather. If you’re coming with family or friends, booking the whole place might be ideal, since there’s a kitchen and more facilities downstairs.
