The Wentworth Guesthouse

We spent one day walking to Brixham and another to Torquay, and the guest house was a great base for both. It’s also just a short stroll to Paignton Harbour for places to eat and drink, with the beach, a nice restaurant, a waterpark for kids and mini-golf only steps away. Amelia and Chris are genuinely welcoming hosts who do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable. It’s the best guest house I’ve stayed in. We’ll be back, maybe with our dog, since there’s a dog friendly ground floor room. Thanks, Amelia and Chris! 🙂

We’ve barely got home and we’re already planning our next visit. The coastline is about a two minute walk away, and there are transport links for getting to neighbouring towns, with lovely views along the way. Amelia and Chris have made The Wentworth Guesthouse feel like a proper family run B&B, with welcoming surroundings, beautiful rooms, lovely breakfasts and information to help guests find entertainment to suit all sorts of interests.

I’d be hard pressed to find somewhere better for the price. I spent five days here, and the hosts were friendly and the service was great. Amelia gave useful advice about the area and places to go. The rooms and guest house were clean and comfortable, and breakfast was first class, with juices, tea, coffee, cereals and a good range of cooked meals. I especially recommend the excellent Full English. The guest house is on a lane with free parking. It’s a 15 minute walk to the beach and 20 minutes to the town centre, bus station and Rail Station. From there, the heritage railway can take you to Dartmouth Harbour for a day on the boats, which I’d also highly recommend.

The park and beach are just a short walk away and both lovely. This gorgeous guesthouse is great value and worth every penny. Whether you’re travelling alone, as a couple or with family, you’ll be looked after in a really comfortable, welcoming place. The home cooked breakfast is amazing. I’d highly recommend it.
