Travelodge Paignton Seafront

Parking was a real problem. There are very few spaces, and even though we paid to cover both days, we couldn’t get a hotel spot the first night. There’s parking nearby up the road. We got the hotel parking fee refunded through their third-party company, so that helped. The rooms were adequate for sleeping, with a compact bathroom, but the small TV could use an update, perhaps to a smart TV. Staff were polite, though a couple seemed inexperienced. Breakfast had plenty of options, but quality varied over the two days; we preferred the bacon on the first morning. The location was okay, with no real seafront view, and the weather was dreadful.

We stayed two nights, and the whole team made us feel welcome. Lucas in particular was easy to talk to, professional and caring, and adapted well to different people’s sense of humour. The room was clean, nice, and had everything we needed. The kitchen even made a late exception for us, which we really appreciated. Thanks to everyone. We were in room 222.

We booked at the last minute for our wedding anniversary. The room was basic, warm, comfortable, and cheap and cheerful, just what you need for a place to sleep. Our view was blocked by buildings, but the beach and seafront were only a two-minute walk across the street, especially good for the low price. We had a drink in the bar/restaurant, which was nice, though another tap option besides Stella would have been better. Chloe and Luka at the desk were lovely and went out of their way to help, bringing a wine cooler full of ice, plates, and cutlery for our food delivery. The morning manager also extended our parking free of charge because our day trip would have had it expire before we got back.

We loved our first visit to this particular Travelodge. The welcome was brilliant, and the room was really nice and comfortable. The location is perfect for the Air Show, which we went to this weekend, as well as for town or the beach. We’ll be back next year for the Air Show, and possibly sooner.
