Motel Air - Glasgow Airport

The guy told me there were rooms available, then when I asked the price he said there were none and left me stranded. Terrible hotel. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

They ask for a £10 deposit for the room key, but this isn’t mentioned online. I felt the setup was meant to make people forget to collect it in the morning when they’re rushing to the airport and drop the key in the quick check out box. It’s disgraceful. Reception is staffed by agency workers, who came across as very unprofessional. The rooms are decent enough and the place has potential, but ours was bright at night because outdoor lights sit right outside the window. The stairwell smelled like a gas leak, which didn’t make me feel confident. I wouldn’t recommend staying here because I don’t trust them. A more reputable brand might be a better choice. To the owners: please think about the values behind how you do business. At the moment, it seems the business model puts anything but customer experience first. I’d strongly recommend addressing that.

The breakfast was fine, continental in style, with croissants, orange juice and a coffee machine. Junior and Willy at reception were great, and one of the cleaners was polite and respectful. I negotiated a cheap rate for a longer work stay, and it’s an ideal place for a one-night airport stop. On the other hand, a couple of cleaners had a clever attitude, and a locker key I needed for work went missing from my room. The cleaners had access and were in there daily, so I couldn’t blame anyone else. At the weekend, kids under 16 were very drunk and running along the landings. There was also what seemed like obvious knocking shop activity, though I expected that at a 3 star hotel. I moved out the following week because I couldn’t trust staying there and felt as if I’d been burgled.

I was stuck in Scotland for a couple of days after a plane problem and called the manager in tears. He was kind and understanding, and made me feel welcome when I returned to the hotel. The owner or manager at the front desk was very nice and accommodating. This was in August of 2019, and it was one of my best hotel experiences. Breakfast was good, especially for the price. My room was spacious, clean and modern, and the bathroom felt like a five star hotel, with a walk in shower and pristine amenities. The location is very central. There’s a really good Indian restaurant down the road in paisley. Would recommend!
