The Watermill Hotel

The hotel is full of people from far, far away. Google won't let me say anything more.

We stayed for a week. The room was perfectly adequate and good value, with a very comfortable bed. The bedding and towels were clean and good quality, and the shower room was clean too. The cleaning service was excellent, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We could see the weir from our room. The water noise was noticeable but soothing. The hot water wasn’t working at first, but they fixed it straight after we reported it. The hotel also took good care over covid restrictions during our stay. It’s handy for the stations, buses and town centre, with good links to major roads. Parking is limited, though there’s a paid car park right in front of the hotel car park. It wasn’t operating while we were there because of road works. The lift is very small, and the smoking area is right by the main entrance. There’s a dining room that looked nice and a public bar, though we didn’t use either. I’d certainly stay again.

The bar food is excellent, and breakfast is buffet style with plenty of choice. Rooms are simple but comfortable, and the place has a relaxed feel. It’s a good base for the West Coast, away from Glasgow’s hustle, and works well for couples.

The bed was comfy and the place was clean, and it’s very well situated. The staff are lovely and helpful, though breakfast was just alright. The rooms could use some work, especially the ceilings. You can hear people walking around, and the plumbing is noisy.
