The team made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived, and they stayed helpful, polite and attentive throughout. Nothing seemed like a bother to them. The food was fresh and cooked well, with generous portions and plenty to enjoy. It made for a relaxed, lovely visit. We’d happily come back and recommend the Britannia near St Austell.

We dropped in for lunch without a reservation and they quickly found us a table with a warm welcome. Our battered cod came out hot and was really good, clearly made with quality produce. Ordering and getting the meals was fast and efficient.

It’s lovely that the Brit is still just as good. Years ago, we’d bring the kids here after school so they could play while we had a quick half. Now our kids have children of their own, and the food is still excellent. Highly recommend.

The garden play park is a welcome sight, and those loaded chips were amazing. We’ll definitely have them again. It’s a friendly place with a lovely atmosphere, and we felt welcome. The pub has a nice mix of traditional and modern, and the food was really good, even if it’s a little pricey.

The staff were great, but £82 for two adult roasts, two kids’ meals and four soft drinks felt ridiculous. I know things cost more now, and I can afford it, but it was still far too much for what we got. The veggie Sunday roast was £20, with a tiny portion of cauliflower cheese and no Yorkshire pudding unless you paid 50p extra. And the potatoes were fried, despite being called “roasted”?
