The Juniperlea Inn

We had a really nice meal here. The beef cheek was beautiful, the seafood plate was delicious, and the burgers got a big thumbs-up from our youngest son on his first bite. The curry sauce with the baked potato was amazing too. Craft beer and tea were both good, and the kids loved their hot chocolates with generous cream and marshmallows. Prices felt reasonable, especially for the kids meals. It's a cosy little pub, even with part of it cordoned off for renovation. The music playlist was excellent, and there's sufficient parking along the road. We also found the country hospitality charming, with staff more than happy to help. Highly recommend!

A cosy little place, and we had a wonderful time here with my partner. The food was lovely, and the staff were great, checking in regularly to see if everything was alright or if we wanted more drinks. I'll definitely be back. Highly recommend.

We went to the Juniperlea for Sunday roast and really enjoyed it. The beef and gravy were particularly delicious, and the veg was very good. The fish and chips were good too. For pudding we had sticky toffee pudding and apple crumble with custard, both tasty and generous portions. Friendly staff and warm, comfortable surroundings.

We booked a family dinner at the Juniperlea for a birthday, and it completely ruined the occasion. There was renovation work underway, including the removal of an entire exterior wall, yet guests were still seated in the room on a cold, wet, windy night. It was so cold I couldn't feel my hands, and nobody could take off their jackets. Meanwhile, staff had their laptops set up on the only table by a fire in the bar. The food was barely warm. One dish had to go back because the fish batter wasn't cooked and looked more like custard. They offered us free dessert after the disastrous meal, which was kind, but the choices were limited and some weren't available. Three of us ordered plain vanilla ice cream and got what looked like a child's serving, one small scoop. It did nothing to make up for spoiling our family celebration. We'll never return, and I'd advise others to avoid it.
