We stopped in for lunch earlier today and had a great time. The place was clean, the food quality was amazing, and the prices were great. The man who served us was funny and welcoming, and the Owner had us all laughing with his sense of humour. Would definitely go again, and recommend it 100%!

The host really is lovely and accommodating, and that made a difference when we dropped in on a whim, despite feeling a little unsure after reading some reviews. It's a charming, fairly average little place, nothing fancy, but welcoming in its own way. My fry-up was decent, though a bit greasy, which I suppose comes with that kind of breakfast. The sausages weren't really my thing, they reminded me of the sort from a chip shop. Just personal taste. A straightforward stop if you're nearby and fancy something simple.

Peter was a huge help when we arrived later than our agreed check-in time, and both owners, Peter and Hailey, were so friendly. The room was extremely clean, and the bed was really comfortable, so we slept well during our three nights. Breakfast came with the price and was lovely. You can see how hard they're working in these unprecedented times. We'll certainly stay again.

The man at the attached café warned us there might be a wait, but chatting and joking with him made the time pass without us noticing. I ordered the homemade lasagne and, as someone who's usually fussy about food, I thought it got everything right. The meal was really nice, and I'd definitely recommend it if you're like me :)

The owner was really friendly and we had a nice chat with him. My partner and I had a lovely freshly cooked meal at the middlegate cafe today. Thanks, we'll call in again next time we visit.
