Beachcliff

The room itself was comfortable, but the cleanliness let it down. There were hairs in the bath and sink, stains on the bed linen, rust visible in the shower, and the balcony lights didn’t work. Nobody was there to welcome us or explain where our room was. The view was just a wall, and parking meant leaving the car on a steep public road. It was very expensive for what you get, and I wouldn’t stay again.

We had a lovely stay and would book these rooms again if we were in the area. Our room was a good size, clean, and came with toiletries, tea, and coffee. It got quite warm, but there was a big fan and we could open the windows, so it was comfortable. We also had a sea view, which was lovely even though it rained nearly the whole time. There’s a nice bar downstairs and an Italian restaurant, with a lift up to the rooms. The cleaner, I think she said her name was Joy, was so helpful when we asked for more teabags and a toilet roll, and the customer service was brilliant. I hadn’t received the email before we arrived, so I was still trying to get in touch with only two hours to go. Hotels.com, where I booked, hadn’t passed on my email address or mobile number. Once I managed to speak to someone, it was sorted.

The staff were really helpful both before we arrived and when we got there. We’ve only just arrived, and the apartment has already exceeded our expectations. There are stairs to tackle, but the view makes them worth it.

We were in room 8 at the top, with a sea view that was amazing. The room was very clean and well equipped, and the bathroom was stunning. The hotel was spotless inside and out, and there’s a beautifully kept garden at the back. The location is spot on, with plenty of restaurants nearby and brilliant walks. I highly recommend staying here.
