The price was close to what we'd paid for a much better B&B in Brecon, so that brought this place down for us. This feels more like an Airbnb house, with the owners living there and renting out rooms. The bathroom and kitchen/breakfast room are shared. You can help yourself to hot drinks, cereal, fruit or toast, depending on what's available. Everything was okay and I don't have other complaints, but we'd just stayed at a genuine five-star B&B in Brecon.

Getting here was easy, with bus and train stations close by, though the place isn't central. I loved my little attic room. It was tiny but cozy, and the glass ceiling window was lovely for watching the rain. There was plenty available for breakfast, and I had a lovely night. The one downside was having to pay cash.

The outside might put you off, but the owners make this place special. We came with my mother-in-law to watch my son's England Rugby League team play Wales (U16), and it felt like a home from home. The beds were very comfortable, and there were tea, coffee and snacks in the larder to help yourself to all day. Breakfast was lovely. They don't serve a full English, but there were plenty of other choices, and they even made my partner a ham and cheese toastie. We'd happily recommend it.

The staff were so friendly and helpful, and I'll definitely stay again on my next visit to Cardiff. It's a delightful house, and my room was spotless with tasteful decor. The bed was really comfy too.

Lovely rooms and wonderful people. I stayed for a couple of nights and can't think of anything bad to say. They were always ready to help and made me feel welcome. I'll definitely stay here again.
