From the outside it looks unassuming, but inside the bar and restaurant are a real gem. I had dinner here for the first time and came away very pleased. There isn't a gluten-free menu, but most dishes could be adapted, so I had plenty of choice. The food and service were excellent. It may not be a budget option, but it was worth every penny. My only disappointment was that the toilets didn't fit the lovely decor and atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit for a nice meal.

The main courses were the stronger part of our meal: the monkfish was cooked perfectly and seasoned well, and the halibut was also lovely and well seasoned, though it lacked jus. For starters, I paid £16.50 for scallops and got three on a bed of pureed sweetcorn. The puree was nice but overwhelmed them, and the scallops themselves were only mediocre. We've had better for less elsewhere. The mushroom gnocchi was potato gnocchi in a lovely cheese sauce, but we couldn't taste any mushroom. It's a nice pub in a good location, but we felt it was overpriced and that you pay for the setting.

After two weeks travelling all over Scotland, this was one of our best experiences. The setting right by the water was lovely, and the rooms were very clean with new bathrooms. The food felt like Michelin restaurant quality, with beautiful presentation and everyone so happy. The sticky toffee pudding was the best of the roughly ten restaurants we tried around the country. Thanks, Peter, from Vermont!

We had one of the most enjoyable stays from beginning to end during our couple of nights at this beautiful little coastal inn. Peter, the owner, was generous with his time and his lovely property. He's a chef and clearly does all the cooking; the meals were delicious, beautifully served, and very generous portions. Ellie(a), the wonderful bartender and waitress, was lovely and fun. Our room looked out over the seafront and was clean, tidy, and very comfortable. It's a unique, cosy little inn and I'd highly recommend it. I really hope we can return someday. We didn't stay overnight, so I can't say anything about the rooms, but we had a lovely meal. The menu is compact, with delicious food, and the service was great. We wouldn't usually take our dog to a restaurant, but circumstances meant we were glad dogs were welcome.
