Blue Swallow Guesthouse

The cooked breakfast was wonderful, with a huge menu that catered for allergies and dietary needs, and we could choose exactly what we wanted. Homemade treats in the room were complimentary and delicious. The owner's local suggestions for eating and drinking were useful too. Everything, from the immaculate room to the spotless cutlery and thoughtful service, was first class. It was affordable and right in the middle of town, with secure private parking. Ullswater Lake is a 20 minute drive away, and there are several castles and other places of interest nearby. This was the best night's stay we've had in the country. Blue Swallow Guest House has set a high standard, and we'll absolutely return when we're next in Cumbria.

Karen and Alison made sure everything was to our liking and even left little homemade treats. Breakfast had a good range of freshly made options and was served promptly each morning. It's a lovely BnB at the bottom of Penrith's high street.

The location made things easy, close to the station and town center, with straightforward bus connections to other places. We arrived early, and Alison and Karen kindly offered to look after our bikes and bags, then made it easy for us to come and go. The rooms at Blue Swallow Guesthouse were immaculate, breakfast was delicious, and the care they give each guest went beyond what we'd hoped for. They're considerate hosts who really know what they're doing. I'm sure I'll stay again when I'm back in the Lake District.

The bedding was so comfortable, and everything we ate was fresh and delicious. Alison and Karen are kind and caring. Calling the rooms spotless doesn't even do them justice. Well worth every penny, and such a lovely stay!
