From the garden, a gate opens onto public paths, including the Stour Valley Way through nearby Pen Sel Wood. The cottage is well equipped and welcomes dogs, and the big conservatory faces a field with grazing horses. Past that, you can see the trees along the River Stour, in the lovely Stour Valley.
The views are good and it’s a really nice place, but the doors are low. My dad and I kept bumping our heads, so it might not suit tall people.
The owner was lovely and especially helpful when the WiFi went down. We enjoyed the log fire and the comfy beds, and the setting and views were beautiful. We visited in April 2019 and would love to return.
The dogs were welcome, and we had a lovely, peaceful stay. We spotted lots of wildlife, and there’s a nice pub down the road.
