The cottage felt run-down and badly in need of work. There was a powerful smell from the mould treatment, it was dirty, and traffic noise carried in from the road. You could use the kitchen, but that was dirty too. The bed was comfortable, though much too low, and its hard, sharp frame hurt my legs when I got in and out. The price was far too high for such a disappointing stay. Honestly, even one star feels like too much.

It was just adequate, somewhere to sleep without any atmosphere. My room smelled damp and the road noise came through. The fan didn't work, and getting in involved complicated codes with nobody there to meet me. The bathroom was shared and upstairs. At least it was close to the train station, seemed clean and tidy, and had a kitchenette, working TV, and Wi-Fi.

For £78 a night without breakfast, I expected a much better room. Nobody was there to welcome me, and it wasn't en-suite. The supposed double was two singles pushed together, with a broken headboard. The room door was damaged, the TV didn't work, and the lights didn't work either.

It's a great spot close to the centre of penzance, with simple, clean accommodation. Parking was a bit awkward, though, as we had to leave the car across the road. A good place to stay if sharing a bathroom is fine with you.

Spider webs all over the place. After one night in bed, my whole body was red and swollen.
