The Barn

The gardens felt magical, and the cottage itself was spotless and beautifully decorated. Julian and Kate were wonderful hosts. They took time to talk us through the local area and even looked up more information about our particular interests. Our stay at River Cottage was perfect. We’ll definitely return, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.

We had a lovely garden to enjoy, with plenty of spots to sit and take in the scenery. The BnB suite was spacious, beautifully decorated and very clean, with good wifi and a TV with lots of channels. The bathroom had shampoo, shower gel and conditioner, along with nice hand soap and hand cream. There was plenty of tea too, and a great coffee machine. Julian met us when we arrived and gave us helpful suggestions for things to do, which we followed. The breakfast was a real treat: Julian and Kate had filled the fridge with local produce, including Cornish yogurt, fresh strawberries replenished each day, apple juice and fruit. There was local muesli and two fresh muffins from a nearby bakery each day as well. My boyfriend and I stayed for two nights on our Cornwall trip and were so impressed. We’re looking for an excuse to come back and stay again. Loved it!

River Cottage at Chypons Farm was immaculate, thoughtfully decorated, and surrounded by delightful gardens. We also enjoyed the selection of books for holiday reading, especially The Shell Seekers, which I was delighted to read again. Julian and Kate, thank you for being such perfect hosts and superb Cornwall Cultural Ambassadors. I hope to return very soon.

We had a fantastic six-night visit, and there’s plenty to do and places to eat nearby. We stayed in the barn, which was tidy and clean, with a very comfy bed. I really can’t fault our stay. Julian, you were a fabulous host. Thanks so much, and see you soon.
