City Bolt-hole - Town Centre

The rooms and corridors were clean, though the building is very, very old, as is the lift. Both seem well maintained. The meals were hot and tasty, and the bar had plenty of whisky, wine and spirits. The staff were friendly and professional, especially behind the bar, where they knew their stuff. The pints were okay too. It’s right in the town centre, and I’d highly recommend this hotel.

A real hidden gem, with lovely views, plenty of parking and just a two-minute walk from the station. The staff were wonderful and friendly, and the rooms were clean and tidy with all the amenities. The bathrooms were five-star, the food was incredible, and the modern interior is tasteful.

The staff made this a happy stay, always smiling, friendly and ready to help, even when I needed directions to some of the rooms. I was here for four nights on a coach holiday. My room was clean, a little dated, but acceptable for the age of the hotel. Meals were excellent, freshly made and had a good choice. Wednesday evening’s entertainment was exceptional, Derek was an incredible musician. The location’s handy for museums, shops and the train station. A lovely stay, thank you, Sally!

We had our wedding service and reception here, and the staff were as helpful as could be. It was an amazing day, and we’ll remember it forever.
