Perth Youth Hostel

These are good quality student rooms in the university grounds, each with an en suite. Bring your own towels. The shared kitchen is spacious and clean, though there aren’t many pots and pans.

There’s a kitchen with all the cutlery, so you can cook, and the bungalow has a washing machine for laundry. The location is very calm, parking is plentiful, and the staff are friendly. Our rooms were clean and spacious.

We had a whole apartment to ourselves with our two children, aged 6 and 10. The girls loved having their own room and bathroom, and said they rather envied the students. The place is basic but has what you need, and the staff were very friendly. The kitchen was large, though the equipment could have been cleaner. The microwave smelled like something had exploded in it, which was probably what happened. Since it’s student accommodation, that wasn’t too surprising. We would have liked an option to get coffee, tea, or breakfast there, but bought the basics ourselves. It’s a perfectly fine, reasonably priced place to stay.

The shared kitchen had all the modern appliances, and my single room had its own bathroom. Reception were especially friendly and helpful. The only thing holding it back from five stars was the lack of crockery and cutlery. Three knives and forks just isn't enough for everyone sharing the kitchen.
