The food was good, and the male owner and waitress were friendly. The waitress was especially lovely, helpful and welcoming. But the female owner put us off coming back. When we tried to go to the bar for a drink, she ushered us to a table and said we'd have to take it right away. She did the same to another couple who arrived five minutes after us. Only one other couple was already there, none of the tables had reservation signs, and nobody else came in while we were there, so I don't understand why she kept asking if we'd booked. She did exactly the same thing on our previous visit. Being herded around like animals is very off-putting, and we won't return 😣😊

The team were the best part, really friendly and helpful. I had a steak burger and thought the food was very good, and the bar and restaurant had a nice local feel. My room was adequate and the bed comfortable. First time staying here, but I'll be back. Very good for someone travelling on business.

It's such sad news that this place is closing. My family and I love eating here, and it's the only spot we enjoy that's close by, so we'll really feel the loss at family meals. The hosts are lovely and so accommodating. I work in a hotel, and I'd absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a meal. We'll miss it so much.

We had a lovely short stay in this cosy, mid-sized room. The owner was very kind, and breakfast was great. A fantastic place to stay!

We popped in for coffee and to warm up. Nice place and good coffee, and the barman even tracked down some scones from high tea for us. A bonus! I'll be back.
