Stephanie was cheerful and kind at breakfast, and the food was wonderful. She was just as understanding and helpful while arranging our booking and throughout our stay. We spent three nights and booked two rooms for my husband and me and our teenage children. They were in the same part of the guest house, one upstairs and one downstairs, which felt like having a small apartment to ourselves. Both rooms were beautifully decorated and very clean. The location was excellent, with the Falcon Inn just a short walk away for a drink or meal. We also enjoyed the lovely views from the place where the castle once stood, and found the history of Mary Queen of Scots very interesting.

We came for one night in September because my son was getting married in the village. The guest house overlooks the church and river, and it's near the site of the old castle. Our room was spacious, comfortable, lovely, and well equipped. Breakfast was delicious too. I'd highly recommend it to anyone staying in the area.

The hosts gave us a warm welcome and were attentive throughout, and the quality of breakfast matched the rooms. Our spacious room was well equipped and nicely presented. The converted Victorian farmhouse sits in a peaceful spot, with lawns running down to the river beside an ancient stone bridge. It's at the edge of a beautiful stone-built village, next to a historic castle mound and a river, and near a church with important royal connections. Hard to beat that location.

Stephanie made a lovely breakfast and was a great host. My room was spacious, clean, and lovely, in a quiet old farmhouse in a well-kept old village. I'd definitely recommend Castle Farm Guest House if you're after a more personal hotel experience. You won't be disappointed.

My employer had to book me in at the last minute after messing up a hotel reservation, and I was pleasantly surprised. The farmhouse and village location were lovely. My room had plenty of space, was clean, and was nicely furnished. Breakfast was very nice, and the owner made me feel welcome. There's also good food at the village pub, just a short walk away. Thoroughly recommend.
