Kennedy House was a refreshing change after a few disappointing hotel stays elsewhere, and we couldn't fault it. It was spotless, tastefully furnished and nicely decorated. Parking worked out fine both on the street and in the off street carport. I could say more in recommendation, but really, if you give it a chance you won't be disappointed.

Kennedy House would be my first choice if I needed to stay in this area again. It's about six miles from the city centre, around £8 by taxi, on a recently built estate. Two minutes away on foot there's a lovely pub overlooking a man made lake full of wildlife, and an L shaped shopping centre with every takeaway and restaurant you could want. The hotel rooms are spacious and very clean, and a small hotel with kitchen and utility facilities deserves high praise. My only complaint was that the outside bins smelled. Well done to the owners, I really enjoyed my stay.

The room was okay, but the floorboards overhead were so creaky and loud that it sounded like the person up there was training to climb Everest 🙄. Parking was a bit tricky too. The shower temperature dial seemed faulty, and both the socket by the TV and the lack of one near the tea setup need attention.

It’s really quiet and has a nice, homely feel. My only issue is that the room or sheets are changed just once a week, which doesn’t suit me.

Booked it for two weeks in a row while working away, and it worked really well for me. It’s a house share, but the en suite feels like a great hotel room, with a clean, comfy bed and a warm, cosy atmosphere. The kitchen has everything you could need, and even as a light sleeper I heard nothing during a week of night shifts. There’s a lake nearby for a walk, plus a pub with good, cheap food just a minute away. Local shops, a post office, Indian and Chinese food, a chip shop, Domino’s and more are all in the same square.
