We found the staff friendly and helpful, and the food was nicely cooked and presented. Our room had a patio overlooking the well kept gardens, plus a modern shower and toilet, and was decorated well. The hotel sits in a very quaint village and has a lovely quaint feel itself. All in all, a nice place that's well worth a visit.

The Haycock Manor and its grounds make a lovely setting for a romantic break. I've stayed twice, once in 2025 and again in May for our wedding anniversary. The Black Friday deal was excellent value, with a double room, three course dinner, drinks allowance, and tea and coffee included. We were kindly upgraded to the beautiful Braithwaite Room. Dinner was utterly delicious, and the service was warm and attentive. Breakfast the next morning was just as good. A big thank you to the staff, who looked after us so well. You can tell they care deeply about the place in everything they do. I've already recommended it to family and friends.

Our Handfasting day here was perfect. The setting was second to none, the food was incredible, and all the staff were amazing. It felt magical and absolutely like a five star experience, even though I've only just noticed the rating is 3½ stars. Thank you, Sophie and everyone there.

Prevost remains a wonderful dining experience, and each visit seems to bring more improvements. The chefs come out with each course and explain it well, while Theresa's wine choices complement the food and suit the portions perfectly. The front of house team, including Theresa, has a great way with people. We also had an excellent Sunday lunch, even during a very busy service with over 120 covers. We stayed at the table for 3-1/2 hours because of a personal health condition that means I need a slower service, and the staff kept their attention and service up throughout. The snacks to share and parsnip veloute were a great start, each snack nicely presented with its own flavour. The huge sharing platter had three good portions of meat, beef, pork and chicken, plus a lovely portion of shepherds pie each. We skipped dessert because we were so full, though it looked as good as everything else. Breakfast has a great choice of continental and menu options, but the full English felt a bit small: one sausage, a very small piece of streaky bacon, a little rosti, a small amount of beans and a flat mushroom left the plate looking empty. Everything was cooked very well. My wife enjoyed her smashed avocado with poached egg on bloomer, but I love a fry up and wanted a bit more. You won't go hungry, though a more bespoke option might suit someone like me. We had booked two nights, with a taster menu and wine flight and Sunday lunch for two in the kitchen, including a generous budget and a bottle of wine from the list. I bought the Black Friday deal, which I now do each year, and it's one of the best £700 spends my wife and I make. Booking was first class, and Rachel from reception followed up with a very welcome and helpful confirmation call. I paid a small extra charge for an upgrade and somehow ended up in the bridal suite, an enormous, beautifully laid out room with a great view of wansford Main Street. Rachel gave us a warm welcome and plenty of advice. Thanks to the front of house and management teams for making this such a good weekend and looking after us so well. We were made to feel very welcome.

The lounge and bar have comfy seating, with outdoor tables for warmer days. The rooms are comfortable and nicely decorated, and the food is fantastic. The Sunday lunch platter is especially terrific. It's one of my favourite places to visit, whether for a stay or just a meal.
