The food wasn't great, and service was slow and poor. They left empty glasses on the table and forgot to come back to take our food order.

We went to celebrate my husband's birthday. Since we're both teetotal, the food is the main draw for us, and it was lovely. The waitresses were a nice bunch, polite, well dressed and friendly, and the service was faultless. The decor felt warm and inviting and was well maintained. Couldn't fault the Waverley Hotel. We're thinking of booking Christmas dinner there this year.

The meals were tasty and reasonably priced. The room was clean and tidy, with a fridge, and everyone was friendly and welcoming.

The meal wasn't worth the price. One order came out wrong, the salad was browning and looked out of date, the batter was rubbery and the chicken chewy. The chips were fine, though. The server had a horrible body-odour smell that followed him through the restaurant. He put our party of three at a comically tiny table clearly meant for two, so I had to sit sideways with one of my plates half off the table. The place was nearly empty, with only two other parties there.

The staff were brilliant and good with the kids. We had a great meal at the Waverly, with a decent choice of quality bar meals. Would highly recommend a visit.
