The Bay Hotel

The breakfast next door was freshly cooked and really tasty. My room was clean, the service was excellent, and it was so quiet, exactly what I needed. I’d recommend this hotel.

I left the same night I booked for, as I didn’t feel like staying. The room was clean and modern, and the staff member I saw was polite, but it felt more like a hostel to me. The room was tiny, up four flights of stairs, and had a loft-like feel. There was no reception desk, just a Ring phone where you had to wait for help. Part of the property was being renovated, so the place felt like a building site. I’d have wanted to know that before booking. It wasn’t for me.

For what I paid, the small, basic single room was fair value. It was clean and did the job, and I’d stay again.

The staff were so friendly and helpful, and nothing seemed like too much trouble. It’s a short walk to the beach, and the hotel has a welcoming, family feel. My single room was spotless and very comfortable, and I slept well. The shower was lovely too, and breakfast was very good. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again next time I’m in Pevensey.
