A cosy, comfortable pub in the heart of the picturesque village of Thornton Le Dale. It’s popular with locals and visitors, and serves good home cooked food. For Sunday lunch, take the hint and get there early. There’s a large beer garden out back and parking available. A lovely pub listed on the national heritage, close to Dalby Forrest and the North Yorkshire moors.

After walking around the picturesque village and visiting the legendary Mathewsons Gift shop, we stopped in for lunch. It was lovely to warm up in such a beautiful pub, and the landlady gave us a really warm welcome. We enjoyed a tasty meal and left feeling happy and relaxed. I’d highly recommend a visit for a warm, welcoming experience.

A brilliant, dog friendly pub with great music that added to the relaxed atmosphere. The food’s lovely, and the fish and chips were amazing. The lady behind the bar was so friendly, and the beer was great too. Definitely recommend.

The Buck is a terrific pub in the village, just as I imagined a country pub in the UK might be. We stopped in for a light meal and weren’t disappointed. The menu was decent and reasonably priced, and the staff and service were first rate. Great atmosphere.

I pass through a couple of times a year and always make sure I stop at the Buck. It’s a lovely little pub in a wonderful village, with a real fire, lots of seating and a spacious area just for eating. It still feels like a community meeting place, which is rare. Good food, great staff, and very reasonable prices.
